More about Sara’s career and background

Sara Riedl is an advisor, consultant and coach who focuses on scaling fast-growing companies from Seed stage to IPO readiness. She is a strategic, global HR executive with 15+ years of experience in scaling hypergrowth companies and has been leading People teams for 12 years.

Sara has been a member of leadership teams for startup companies like Iterable, Funding Circle or Skimlinks. She is a trusted advisor to founders and executives, a coach to emerging leaders and high potentials, and a sounding board to in-house People teams.  Sara focuses on organizational effectiveness, coaching, leadership development, and change management. Sara particularly enjoys partnering with organizations that are deeply values-driven and invested in employee engagement. 

Sara has been consulting technology companies since 2017 with a focus on scaling People processes for hypergrowth. She acts as an adviser to technology companies in the HR space to drive growth, thought leadership and innovation as part of her advisory role at People Tech Partners.

As VP People at Iterable, a late-stage hypergrowth SaaS company, Sara scaled key processes across HR, Talent Acquisition and Operations, including equitable performance and promotion processes, values-based hiring, and development programs for emerging leaders and high potentials. Under her leadership the company saw employee engagement increase to and stabilize at unprecedented levels while going through a period of hypergrowth.

As Head of People at Funding Circle, a company in the FinTech space, Sara introduced a global HR architecture including levels, competencies, and career ladders. She also partnered with leaders on employee engagement and retention, Talent Acquisition strategy, as well as succession and talent planning. During Sara’s leadership the company expanded internationally, acquiring a company with offices in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.

Based in London, UK, Sara led the People team at Skimlinks and was instrumental in the company’s acquisition of a competitor. She led the company’s HR due-diligence efforts, communication strategy and integration process. She also played a key role in opening the company’s first international location.

As an immigrant and woman in Tech, Sara cares deeply about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and has made this a focus of her work. Sara is a big believer in integrating DEI in all People processes - from talent acquisition, to talent reviews and leadership development. 

In her free time Sara is a kayaking guide and leads corporate and team building trips in Sausalito, CA. Sara enjoys spending time with her family, recharges by spending time outdoors, and finds meditative practice in pottery (wheel throwing), where she creates everything from teapots to ceramic lanterns.

Sara has a Master’s Degree in International Business from the University of Economics and Business Administration in Vienna, Austria. She completed UC Berkeley’s Executive Education Program “Next Generation Board Directors” that focuses on corporate board members from diverse backgrounds. Sara is a founding member of Chief, the executive network for women leaders.
